Minimally Invasive Treatment of Enlarged Prostate

Advanced Procedures for Prostate Cancer

The urologists in our office are skilled providers of surgery using the da Vinci™ robotic surgery system. The benefits of robotic surgery include reduced bleeding, less pain, smaller risk of internal scarring, and a shorter hospital stay and a faster recovery are also possible.

Another advanced procedure for the minimally invasive treatment of prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as, enlarged prostate is High Intensity Focused Ultrasound, or HIFU, with the Sonablate® 500 uses the power of ultrasound to destroy deep-seated tissue with pinpoint accuracy.

Please note that the HIFU treatment for prostate cancer and BPH is not yet approved for use in the United States. Investigational studies are under way in several centers in America.
